Why minimum order quantity matters in custom packaging
Why MOQ exists and how to plan your packaging production around it.

Minimum order quantity (MOQ) is one of the first things you'll encounter when ordering custom packaging. Knowing why it exists helps you plan production and budget without surprises.
Planning Around MOQ
Custom packaging requires setup work — dies, printing plates, and machine calibration — and those fixed costs are spread across the entire run, so larger quantities lower the per-unit price. Order too little and the unit cost rises sharply; order too much and you tie up cash in unused stock. The key is to estimate your real sales pace and order a quantity you can realistically use within a reasonable period.
